Beverly Crest: The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Bureau Homicide detectives are investigating a house party that resulted in a shooting leaving one man dead and another seriously injured in the Beverly Crest neighborhood of Los Angeles.
On Wednesday, August 26, 2020, around 2:30 a.m. LAPD West Los Angeles officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 2200 block of San Ysidro Drive.
The officers arrived and were directed by witnesses into a residence where two victims had suffered gunshot wounds. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and determined one adult male victim dead at the scene. The second shooting victim was transported to a local hospital where he is in stable condition.
The LAPD learned the location is a short-term rental and there had been a party with about 25-30 people in attendance. The victim had a possible gang dispute with another male Black, wearing dark clothing. The suspect shot both victims and left the location on foot. There were no previous radio calls at this location.
The LAPD will be at the location throughout the day conducting their crime scene investigation. San Ysidro is closed to all traffic.
