Van Nuys: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Valley Bureau Homicide unit are asking for the public’s assistance in obtaining any additional information in a fatal shooting.
On January 13, 2021 at 2:00 a.m., officers of the LAPD’s Van Nuys division responded to a radio call of, “Shots fired” at the 6900 block of Peach Avenue. The officers observed a victim that was unconscious, not breathing, and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds laying on the sidewalk. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were requested, and they pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Valley Bureau Homicide detectives responded to the scene and assumed investigative responsibility of the investigation.
Detectives located the victim approximately 6 feet away from a black BMW Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with the engine running after it had collided with a fence on the southeast corner of Peach Avenue and Hart Street. Detectives believe the SUV is connected to the victim, a nearby home may have been a part of the incident, and that the incident is possibly drug-related.
The victim is described as a 34-year-old Hispanic male from North Hollywood. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
