Opens https://lacity.gov/directory in a new window.Exposition Park: The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in the murder of 26-year-old Jonathan Orellana-Lozada, a resident of Los Angeles.
On April 9, 2024, around 5:00 p.m., Southwest Area officers were on patrol in the area of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Vermont Avenue when they heard gunfire nearby. Officers quickly located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound in a nearby parking lot. Officers detained three people nearby.
The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim deceased at scene.
Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department South Bureau Homicide are currently investigating the incident as well as the involvement of the three people detained.
Currently there is no suspect description available. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
