Opens https://lacity.gov/directory in a new window.South Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Juvenile Division, Abused Child Section, is investigating the death of a 4-year-old female.
On December 2nd, officers and detectives responded to the Los Angeles County University of Southern California Medical Center (LAC-USCMC). They were requested after a 4-year-old female was transported there at 11:15 a.m. by ambulance. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. The victim had been transported from a residence in the 1500 block of east 42nd Street. Police were requested by the hospital staff.
Detectives initial investigation has led them to arrest the father of the victim, 23-year-old Charles Richard Lee. Lee has been arrested for a felony charge; child abuse resulting in death. Lee’s booking number is 5487075. At this time, the investigation is on-going and is pending review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
