Update

On December 30, 2022, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Rampart Patrol Division officers arrested and booked 24-year-old Alexis Emilio Chavarria, a resident of Los Angeles in the area of Bixel Street and Temple Street. Chavarria was booked for 20001(a), Felony Hit-and-Run, of the California Vehicle Code. His bail was set at $75,000 (Booking No. 6527626).

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office filed two felony counts 20001(b)(1), Felony Hit-and-Run; and 10851(a), Driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent, of the California Vehicle Code, and a misdemeanor count of 20002(a), Hit-and-Run, of the California Vehicle Code.

Chavarria is due to be arraigned January 4, 2023, at the Clara Foltz Criminal Justice Center, located at 210 West Temple Street.

Los Angeles: On November 9, 2022, around 7:10 a.m., the driver of a stolen 2006 Saturn Ion was involved in a crash with a 1998 Toyota truck at Glendale Boulevard and Scott Avenue. The driver of the Saturn abandoned the vehicle at the scene and fled on foot without rendering aid and identifying himself. The occupants of the Toyota sustained minor injuries.

The driver is described as a Hispanic male in his 30’s, standing at 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing approximately 215 lbs.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $5,000 is available to community members that who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
