UPDATE On May 17, 2019, at 7:30 p.m., West Traffic detectives arrested 26-year-old Jonathan Keith Crosby in the 2200 block of N. Cahuenga Boulevard. He was booked for 20001 VC, Felony Hit and Run. His bail was set at $50,000.00.

Fairfax: The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division detectives are investigating a felony hit and run that occurred at Melrose Avenue and Ogden Avenue.
On Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at 10:15 p.m., a felony hit and run traffic collision occurred. An unidentified driver of a dark colored vehicle, possible small sized SUV, was driving westbound on Melrose Ave. when the vehicle collided with a pedestrian walking north in the crosswalk at Ogden Avenue.
The driver of the dark colored vehicle failed to stop and render aid, and to identify himself to the pedestrian as required by law. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and were unable to resuscitate the victim who succumbed to his injuries. Identification of the victim is pending.
