Former NFL Player Charged with Accessory to Murder

Los Angeles: On July 19, 2000, at approximately 11:30 p.m., victims Avery Roberts, a 20 year old male Black, and his girlfriend, Tinna Robinson, a 20 year old female Black, were discovered shot to death on the south sidewalk on 93rd Street, just east of San Pedro Street. The two victims were walking home from a family member’s house when they were confronted, shot and killed.
The subsequent investigation led to the identity of Darren Henderson, a 34-year-old male Black. On November 19, 2002, Henderson was charged and arrested for the shooting deaths of Roberts and Robinson. Henderson was arrested at the Los Angeles County Jail while awaiting court proceedings for an unrelated homicide case.
On December 4, 2002, the Los Angeles Police Department, Career Criminal Apprehension Section, arrested Charles Alexander Jordan, a 33 year old, male Black. Jordan was arrested and charged with 32 P.C., accessory to the murders of Robinson and Roberts. Jordan was located at South Orange County Court, Laguna Hills at a pretrial hearing for vandalism. Jordan was arrested in Orange County and booked at 77th Area Jail by LAPD personnel.
Jordan is a former NFL player, who played wide receiver for the Los Angeles Raiders, Green Bay Packers, and the Miami Dolphins from 1993 to 1999. Jordan also played one season for the Memphis Manixs of the defunct XFL.
