Los Angeles: On Saturday, February 8, 2003, at 12:30 a.m., victims Ishmail Durden, a male Black, 8 years of age, a female Black, 2 years of age, a male Black, 13 years of age and a male Black, 55 years of age, all family members, were seated in the living room of their residence located in the 900 block of West 60th Street watching television. An unknown number of suspects approached the residence on foot and began firing numerous rounds into the house through the window and walls. All four victims sustained gunshot wounds. The Los Angeles City Fire Department transported Ishmail Durden to Martin Luther King Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. The other three victims were transported to local hospitals and are listed in critical condition.
The motive is unknown at this time and the suspect(s) and weapon(s) are not in custody.
