"Gang-Related Shooting Leaves Man Dead; Detectives Seek Public’s Help"
 

Los Angeles: On Saturday, August 9, 2003 at about 8:45 p.m., 24 year-old Mario A. Williams was shot to death at the corner of Imperial Highway and Avalon Boulevard. Unknown suspect(s) approached the victim and shot him at least one time in the upper torso. No witnesses have come forward regarding this shooting death.
Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
The motive for the shooting appears to be gang-related and the identities of the suspects are unknown at this time.
