Gang Shooting Claims One More Life

Los Angeles: Early Thursday morning a man was gunned down as he walked in the neighborhood of Southwest Area in the City of Los Angeles.
On Thursday, February 16, 2006, at about 6:35 a.m., Troy Morris, a 19-years-old resident of Los Angeles, was in front of 1561 W. 38th Place. Two suspects approached Morris from the rear and shot at him multiple times. Morris fell to the ground and one of the suspects walked closer to him and shot him again in the chest. The suspects then fled westbound 38th Place to an awaiting car driven by a third man.
Mr. Morris was taken to California Hospital where he died from his injuries a short time later.
The shooter was described as a Black man accompanied by a Black woman. The driver of the get away car was described as a Black man. The get away car was described as a light color, small compact car with four doors.
The motive for this crime is believed to be gang related at this time.
