WHY:
LAPD officers, outside agencies, and community members from the medical field come together to learn a new restraint method called the SafeWrap system to promote de-escalation during a violent altercation. The SafeWrap system promotes safety for both officers and subjects, minimizing the risk of injury, while further enhancing community trust. Gracie University head instructors Ryron and Rener Gracie, from the legendry Gracie family, andfounders of GST will be providing the training. LAPD’s Training Division will host the event at the Ahmanson Recruit Training Center.
