Studio City: Los Angeles Police
Department detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying
of two grand theft suspects in North Hollywood.
On January 23, 2018 between 9:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m., the suspects
introduced themselves to the victim in a parking lot of a shopping
center. The suspects indicated they were about to leave town and
needed help to donate money to a local church. The suspects told
the victim they received a large sum of money and they could not
take the money with them to their home country.
The suspects convinced the victim to provide some “good faith
money” to ensure she didn’t keep the money for herself. The
suspects drove the victim to multiple banks to withdraw large sums
of money.
The suspects dropped the victim at her residence and as she exited
the vehicle, the suspects sped off with all the victim’s
money.
The victim is a 75-year-old North Hollywood resident and the
suspects were able to get $45,000 of the victim’s money.
Suspect-1 is described as a male Black or Hispanic, standing at
about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds, and
60-65 years old. He is also described as having light skin.
