WHO: Globetrotter “Zeus” McClurkin, 4X Guinness World Record Holder Globetrotter “El Gato” Melendez, the first Puerto Rican player in Globetrotter history. Female Globetrotter “Champ” Thompson, a rookie from Stanford and the University of Notre Dame LAPD Trick Shot Cop Arius George and two uniformed LAPD officers Director Kelly Baptiste, Watts Learning Center
WHY: The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters are joining forces with the LAPD to a relay a message from the National Campaign to Stop Violence that empowers students with tools in communication as a response to bullying. Combining masterful ball handling skills, humor, and student interaction, Harlem Globetrotter superstars and the LAPD “Trick Shot Cop” will leave a lasting impression on 300 students at Watts Learning Center with an interactive presentation of “T.E.A.M Up at School,” providing students with bullying solutions to Talk, Empathize, Ask, and Mobilize.
