Los Angeles: On March 5, 2004, at about 11:00 p.m., fourteen year old Brittany Young was reported missing by her parents to the Los Angeles Police Department. The Missing Person investigation revealed at about 6:00 a.m. Brittany left for University High School, at Wilshire Boulevard and Barrington Avenue. Brittany and a girlfriend take the bus to and from school, returning home at about 4:00 p.m.
When questioned by the investigating officers the girlfriend said that she and Brittany were on the #108 bus line. At about 4 p.m., she got off the bus at Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue, with Brittany remaining on the bus. Brittany usually gets off the bus at 4th Avenue and Slauson Avenue and walks a couple of blocks to her home near 54th Street and 4th Avenue. There was no mention on the bus ride home of any personal or other problems. The girlfriend was the last person to have seen Brittany.
Brittany’s parents, Lester and Joy Young, said she has never run away from home and there are no family or school problems.
Brittany is a female Black, light complexion, with black hair, brown eyes, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white tank-top under a blue Lakers jacket, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes.
