Van Nuys: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Sexually Exploited Child Unit (SECU), Juvenile Division, has been involved in an investigation involving Scott Silva, a teacher at Birmingham Community Charter High School, in the city of Van Nuys.
SECU Detectives assumed investigative responsibility on November 1, 2018, after receiving a Suspected Child Abuse Report (SCAR) alleging inappropriate conduct by Mr. Silva.
On November 16, 2018, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office filed multiple counts of Sexual Battery and Child Annoyance, and a warrant in the amount of $400,000 was issued for Silva’s arrest. Mr. Silva was subsequently taken into custody, without incident.
