Opens https://lacity.gov/directory in a new window.Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a man.
On February 13, 2024, around 11:00 p.m., a dark colored vehicle was traveling northbound on Beloit Avenue approaching Missouri Avenue. The vehicle collided with a pedestrian who was walking in the street northbound Beloit Avenue. The vehicle failed to stop and continued northbound Beloit Avenue before negotiating a U-turn to then flee southbound Beloit Avenue without identifying themselves or rendering aid as required by law.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the male pedestrian to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
