Los Angeles: A hit and run driver who killed a North Hollywood man was arrested about six hours after the collision when he returned to the crime scene.

On January 8, 2011, at around 8 p.m., Adrian Diamond, a 21-year-old resident of Stevenson Ranch, was driving a 1990 to 1995 Ford Thunderbird northbound on Coldwater Canyon approaching Sherman Way.  He struck and killed 76-year-old Earl Biggs, a resident of North Hollywood, who was crossing the street mid block.

Diamond failed to stop to render aid and identify himself as is required by law. However, early the next morning, on January 9, 2011, at around 2 a.m., Diamond returned to the crash site and was taken into custody without incident.  He was booked into Van Nuys Jail on a $50,000 bail, for Felony Hit and Run.  Had Diamond stayed at the scene it is possible that he would not be facing any charges.

Biggs was transported to a local hospital where he died a short time later.

The Ford Thunderbird is still outstanding.
