Arleta: Hit and Run Fatal Traffic Collision on Devonshire Street south of Arleta Avenue.
On Saturday June 4, 2016, at around 3:05 a.m., a Hit and Run Fatal Traffic Collision occurred in the city of Arleta.
A black and white, 2009 Suzuki, motorcycle was traveling eastbound Devonshire Street onto southbound Arleta Avenue when it collided with an unknown vehicle.
The rider, Steven Joseph Vega, was ejected from the motorcycle. The motorcycle continued in a southeast direction and came to rest on the northeast corner of Arleta Avenue and Fillmore Street.
The driver of the unknown vehicle fled the location in an unknown direction.
The motorcycle rider, Steven Joseph Vega, a 29 year- old resident of Sylmar was taken to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
