Los Angeles: LAPD Central Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information about a hit and run traffic collision that killed a Los Angeles woman.
On Sunday, October 16, 2011, around 2:30 a.m., LAPD Central Traffic Division officers received a call of a traffic collision in the area of McKinley Avenue and 54th Street. When the officers arrived, they saw a woman inside a car suffering from traumatic injuries. The car appeared to have been in a traffic collision. LAFD emergency personnel responded and transported the woman to a local hospital where she is listed in serious condition.
Detectives say the victim, in her mid-20’s, was driving her 2002 Ford Mustang southbound on McKinley Avenue when her car was struck by a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe that was traveling westbound on 54th Street. The driver of the Tahoe left the scene of the collision without providing identification or rendering aid to the woman. The investigating is on-going.
