Hit-and-Run Leaves One Severely Injured NR24346dc

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a hitandrun traffic
collision that left a 30yearold man with severe injuries.

On Thursday, December 26, 2024, around 5:30 p.m., a dark colored sedan with tinted windows traveling eastbound Vanowen Street past De Soto Avenue struck a pedestrian crossing the street.

The driver failed to stop, identify themselves, and/or render aid to the injured person and fled the scene eastbound Vanowen Street.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the severely injured pedestrian to a local hospital for medical treatment.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a HitandRun Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a traffic collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene as required by law.
