Hit-and-Run Motorist Kills Bicyclist NR11304rh

The victim in this collision is identified as George Loudon.To maximize safety, bicyclists are reminded to equip their bicycles with lights and reflectors, and to wear reflective clothing, especially after dark.

Los Angeles:  The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) West Traffic Detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a driver who struck a man riding his bicycle, killing him.

On Monday, July 4, 2011, at about 2:25 a.m., a 32-year-old White male was riding his bicycle northbound on Vista Del Mar just south of Hyperion Way when he was struck by an unknown vehicle travelling northbound Vista Del Mar.  The car hit the rear of the victim’s bicycle.

The driver of the vehicle left the scene failing to render aid or identifying themselves as required by law.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead at scene.  The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
