What: Press Conference

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division will conduct a news conference to request assistance from the community in identifying the person responsible for the death of 79 year-old Maria De Los Angeles Munoz, a resident of Los Angeles. The family members of Ms. Munoz have requested a second press conference and will be in attendance.
On January 23, 2004, Los Angeles City Councilmember Jan Perry initiated a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the Hit and Run driver.
On Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at about 5:40 p.m., Ms. Munoz, was crossing the intersection of Hooper Avenue and 23rd Street when she was struck by a car. The driver of the car failed to stop and identify himself.
Ms. Munoz was seriously injured and discovered by witnesses on the roadway. She was taken to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center by paramedics. Ms. Munoz suffered major body trauma and was pronounced dead on December 3, 2003.
The suspect’s car was described as a white sedan, possibly a Cadillac. No suspect description or further vehicle description was available.
