Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department Harbor Area detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) who murdered Los Angeles resident James Dominguez.
On Wednesday, May 18, 2011, around 5:45 p.m., LAPD Harbor Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Wilmington Boulevard. When they arrived, they saw a black Ford utility truck that crashed into a fire hydrant. Inside the truck, the officer saw a man in the driver’s seat suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. LAFD rescue personnel responded and transported the man, later identified as 26-year-old James Dominguez, to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
After a thorough investigation, detectives believe Dominguez was driving his 2000, black Ford Expedition, north on Wilmington Boulevard approaching the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway when the suspect(s), driving a red car, pulled next to Dominguez and shot numerous times into his car. Dominguez was struck multiple times in the upper torso. Dominguez continued on Wilmington Boulevard until his truck collided with a fire hydrant on the northwest corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Wilmington Boulevard. The suspect(s) made a u-turn on Wilmington Boulevard just south of Pacific Coast Highway and drove away from the scene. Detectives believe there are witnesses who have crucial information and have yet to come forward.
