Los Angeles: On December 15, 2012, around 7:20 p.m., LAPD West Valley Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in progress in the 4500 block of Vanalden Avenue. When the officers arrived, they learned that two victims had been shot and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The first victim, a 51-year old female failed to respond to treatment and died. The second victim, a 49-year old man, remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
The investigation has revealed that the suspect, 59-year old Hrant Meguerian is the female victim’s ex-husband, and was involved in an argument with the male victim when Meguerian produced a gun and shot both victims. Meguerian remained at the scene and was taken into custody by responding officers.
Meguerian has been booked in connection with murder and attempted murder. His bail is set at one million dollars.
