"Homicide Victim Found in Torched Car"

Los Angeles – On Monday, October 2, 2000, during the late evening hours, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire across from 2717 South 7TH Avenue. Upon extinguishing the fire, they observed the victim lying on the front passenger’s floorboard.

The victim was only described as a male Black, 45 years of age and his name is not available for release pending notification to the next of kin. The motive for this homicide is presently unknown.

The investigation is assigned to Southwest Division Homicide Detectives, Willie Sera and Linda Ortega. Anyone with information regarding this case may contact these detectives at 213-485-2417.
