Boyle Heights: Los Angeles Police Department’s Detectives are asking for the community’s assistance on information leading to identification of the suspect responsible for the burglaries in the Hollenbeck Park Area.
There have been four residential Hot Prowl Burglaries near Hollenbeck Park between January 19, 2017 and March 2, 2017.
The area of the burglaries occurred between East 4th Street to Whittier Boulevard and Boyle Avenue to Chicago Street, between 2:30 a.m. and 5:40 a.m., while the victims were sleeping.
The suspect is known to enter the rear of the residence, through either an unlocked door or window, and enters the victim’s bedroom and removes their property. On one occasion, the suspect touched the victim’s leg and fled when the victim screamed.
The suspect is described as a male, unknown ethnicity, standing at 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, 180 lbs. to 220 lbs. wearing dark clothing.
Burglary Detectives are alerting and advising the community to please make sure that all the doors and windows are locked and secured. Replace broken lighting and always be aware of your surroundings. Install or maintain surveillance cameras. Speak with your neighbors and report any suspicious activity in or around your property.
