“Hot Prowl” Burglary Caught on Video NR19274ml

Hollywood Hills: Los Angeles Police Department burglary detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying suspects who were caught by security cameras burglarizing an elderly victim’s home.

On October 4, 2019 at 5:30 a.m., at the 1800 block of North Crescent Heights, surveillance video captured a male and female in a late model dark colored BMW enter the victim’s driveway. The driver exited the vehicle with bolt cutters and approached the victim’s front door.

The suspect used the bolt cutters to remove a lock box containing a key to the residence from the front door knob. He then fled the location with the lock box. One hour later, he returned to the residence and used the key to enter.

The suspect was inside for approximately two minutes and removed a telescope, cell phone and a handgun. The female suspect also entered the home but did not appear to take anything. The elderly victim was home and sleeping during the entire incident. Detectives believe the suspects have some familiarity with the residence or the victim.

The male suspect is described as White, heavy build, approximately 30 years old wearing a white-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.

The female suspect is a female White, approximately 25-years-old wearing dark pants, a black jacket and black hat.

During the burglary, the suspects were accompanied by what appears to be an Australian Shepard dog.
