Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) West Los Angeles Division detectives are asking for the public’s help to provide information on the identity of three robbery suspects who are responsible for a smash and grab jewelry store robbery in West Los Angeles area.
On May 3, 2012, around 8:30 p.m., three male African-American suspects entered the mall located in the 10800 block of West Pico Boulevard. They walked directly into the Zales Jewelry store, where they approached the counter. One suspect produced a hammer, which he used to smash through the glass jewelry display case, as the other two suspects produced bags and removed the jewelry from within the case. During the course of the robbery, an employee activated the robbery alarm as they fled the store along with customers who were inside at the time of the robbery. The suspects subsequently fled with numerous items of jewelry with an estimated loss of $150,000.
