Kidnap Suspect Sought by Detectives NR19125ml

UPDATE

Los Angeles: The suspect in the kidnapping incident that occurred at the McDonald’s located at 1310 East Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles has been identified as Maralyn Ramos. She was arrested and booked for 207(A) PC-Kidnapping and her bail is set at $100,000.

On May 15, 2019, at 10:35 p.m., Central Area uniformed officers contacted the suspect during an unrelated incident in the area of Agatha Street and San Pedro Street. They recognized her as the suspect in the kidnapping and took her into custody without incident.

In order to preserve the integrity of the investigation, a photo of Ramos will not be released until additional investigative steps have been completed.

In addition, Robbery-Homicide Division detectives have determined that the second Attempt Kidnapping incident was not committed by the same suspect and there is no connection between Ramos and the suspect detectives are looking to identify. The suspect in that case is still at large. Detectives are releasing video of that incident and need the community’s help to identify her.

On May 15, 2019 at 11:15 a.m., an attempt kidnap of a 4 year-old boy occurred on Martin Luther King Boulevard and San Pedro Street in Los Angeles.

The suspect approached the victim, pulled his hand, and attempted to walk away with the victim. The victim was walking alongside a family member when the attempt kidnap occurred.

The suspect was stopped by a witness in the area and fled from the scene on foot.

The Los Angeles Police Robbery-Homicide Robbery Special Section assumed investigative responsibilities for the Kidnap and Attempt Kidnap investigation committed by the female suspects.

The suspect from the incident on Martin Luther King Boulevard is described as approximately 30-40 years old, female Black, black hair, brown eyes, standing at approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing 180-200 pounds.

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information that would lead to the identification and arrest of a kidnap and attempt kidnap suspect.

On May 14, 2019, at 3:15 p.m., the suspect approached and carried the victim, a 4-year-old, out of the McDonald’s located in the 1300 block of East Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles.

The suspect attempted to enter a parked vehicle with the victim but was stopped by a witness.

The suspect fled on foot from the area.

The suspect is described as a 25-30-year-old, female Hispanic or Black, black hair, unknown color eyes, standing at 5 foot 4 inches tall, and weighing approximately 115 pounds.

The suspect has a possible scar/birthmark on forehead, an unknown tattoo above left breast and an unknown tattoo on the upper back and left shoulder.

Detectives are investigating to determine if they are related.
