Los Angeles: On Thursday, November 1, 2012, around 3:45 p.m., Olympic Area patrol officers responded to a “Shooting in Progress” call at a business located in the 3400 block of Wilshire Boulevard. When the officers arrived they were directed to the fourth floor where they confronted the suspect, 52-year-old Ji Tae Kim who was armed with a handgun.
Kim was standing over the victim, a 44-year-old male, who was lying on the floor of his office bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds. Kim immediately surrendered to officers and was taken into custody without incident.
Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he was treated for multiple gunshot wounds and is listed in critical condition.
West Bureau Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting. The motive behind the shooting is unknown at this time.
Ji Tae Kim has been booked for Attempted Murder and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
