Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Olympic Division Detectives arrested two suspects who were responsible for a series of business burglaries in the Koreatown area. Detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating any additional businesses that may have been victimized.
On July 5, 2012, around 5:30 a.m., LAPD Olympic Division Patrol Officers responded to a burglary alarm activation at a business in the 200 block of Oxford Avenue in Koreatown. When the officers arrived, they saw the suspects breaking into the building through a smashed window. The officers immediately detained two suspects, searched and secured the business and placed both suspects under arrest for burglary. The suspects were transported to Olympic Station where they were booked for burglary and held in lieu of $20,000 bail. The suspects have been identified as 25-year-old Byung Ho Son and 18-year-old Jung Hwan Park, both residents of Los Angeles.
Through their investigation, detectives have connected Son and Park with a series of business burglaries that have plagued businesses in the area of 3rd Street and Oxford Avenue, and 7th Street and Hobart Avenue. Detectives believe there may be other businesses that may have been victimized by Son and Park and are asking those business owners to contact the LAPD.
