WHAT: Community Youth Walk and Outreach Event
WHEN: Wednesday, August 28, 2019 5:00 p.m. – 77th Street Junior Cadets, 77th Street Cadets, and Community Members arrive 5:15 p.m. – Arrival of LAPD invited guests, LAUSD Officials and Council District Guests 5:30 p.m. – Pledge of Allegiance, opening remarks and Introduction of LAPD personnel 6:00 p.m. – Community Youth Walk and Outreach event along the Figueroa Corridor 6:15 p.m. – Participants stop at 61st Street Elementary School for a special message from LAUSD representative Dr. Reginald Sample and Council District Guests 6:30 p.m. – Participants depart 61st Street Elementary School and return to South Los Angeles Activity Center 6:45 p.m. -Closing remarks with food and drinks to be served to community and youth participants.

WHY: 77th Street Area Community Relations office will be hosting a community youth walk and outreach event along the Figueroa Corridor. We are expecting over 150 youth and 100 community members to participate.
We would like to take the opportunity at this event to thank Los Angeles Police Department, Officer Chris Mcpheeters for his dedication to the 77th Community Relations Unit and 77th Street Area. Officer Mcpheeters was recently selected as our new 77th Street Senior Lead Officer. Officer Mcpheeters is an 18-year veteran of the LAPD and has spent the last 17 years assigned to the 77th Street Area.
