WHY:
The Los Angeles Police Department will graduate 29 police officers. Twenty-seven of the graduates will serve with the LAPD, with 22 males and seven females. The ethnic breakdown of those 27 graduates is as follows: eleven Caucasians, 9 Hispanics, five African American and two Asians. There are also two additional officers graduating who will serve on the Los Angeles World Airports’ police force. Graduating officers have completed 920 hours of training over the course of 24 weeks.
