WHY:
The Los Angeles Police Department will graduate 51 police officers, with 38 males and 13 females. The ethnic breakdown of the class is as follows: 15 Caucasians, 21 Hispanics, 5 African American, 1 Korean and 3 Middle Eastern decent. Graduating officers have completed 912 hours of training over the course of 24 weeks. Among the graduates are 2Los Angeles Port police officers and 4 Airport police officers.
Chief Bratton will inspect the class and it is anticipated that over 500 guests will attend the graduation ceremonies.
