WHY:
The Los Angeles Police Department will graduate 39 police officers, with 30 males and nine females.  The ethnic breakdown of the class is as follows: 12 Caucasians, 13 Hispanics, seven African Americans, three Filipinos and four Asians, one of which is Korean.  Graduating officers have completed 920 hours of training over the course of 24 weeks.
