LAPD Arrests Felony Vandalism Suspect During Downtown Los Angeles March NR24274kt

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has arrested a 26-year-old Los Angeles resident, Alex Guillen, in connection with multiple acts of vandalism during a march through the downtown area.

The incident occurred on October 5, 2024, at approximately 4:10 p.m., during a demonstration in downtown Los Angeles. Guillen was seen spray-painting “Free Palestine!” on the exterior of the LAPD Police Headquarters Facility (PHF), located at 100 W. 1st Street, causing significant damage to City property. Guillen also vandalized several additional locations along the route of the march. At approximately 6:20 p.m., Guillen was apprehended at the intersection of Hill Street and 5th Street. At the time of the arrest, Guillen was in possession of two black spray paint cans and distinctive clothing worn during the vandalisms. Guillen was booked for 594(B)(1) PC, Felony Vandalism and given booking number 6895894.
