LAPD Centurion Baseball Team & Sherman Oaks Castle Batting Cages

Why:
To extend an invitation to all local kids of all ages to attend this fun but competitive batting competition.  Starting October 1, 2013, all competitors can register in person (must show proof of age with ID or birth certificate).  For a small non-refundable fee of $20.00 all competitors will receive tokens for practice rounds, entry for prize drawings (including Dodger tickets for next seasons, Oakley baseball glasses, bicycles, baseball equipment and more) and bat a round of 25 pitches.  LAPD’s finest baseball team along with Sherman Oaks Castle Batting Cages staff will be on hand to judge the competitors and determine who has the best bat in the valley.  There will be eight different age categories: 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-20, 21-29, 30-39 and 40 & over. The top three competitors from each category will return on Thursday, October 10, 2013 for the championship round.  Prizes will be awarded for each age category.

The LAPD Baseball Team is made up of 25 sworn Los Angeles Police Officers.  The team has been playing in competitive charity baseball events for over 126 years.   The team also hosts free youth baseball clinics and community events to help bring law enforcement, youth, and local communities together through America’s favorite past time.  The LAPD’s baseball team promotes healthy lifestyles, physical fitness and team work amongst our youth while helping create gang, drug and crime free communities.
