WHAT: The LAPD and West Coast Customs will unveil a pink police cruiser in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

WHY: Every October is designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is a campaign supported by charities worldwide to increase awareness of the disease and raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, treatment and cure.

LAPD joined forces with West Coast Customs to customize a Ford Explorer police vehicle with a unique pink wrapping. Dubbed the “Pink Patch Project.” Its purpose is to draw attention to increase awareness and encourage regular screenings for the early detection of breast cancer.
