Next session of the LAPD Cadet Leadership Academy Begins Saturday, January 25, 2014. The program is free and youth ages 13 to 20 can enroll. Work with police officers to learn communication skills, physical fitness, job interview skills, decision making, driver’s safety, and much more.
The application deadline is Monday, December 23, 2013. A parents academy session will also be provided in March to teach the parents some of the same classes the youth are getting.
“Young people need a way to discover their talents and understand the importance of helping others. The LAPD Cadet Leadership Academy provides opportunities for both,” said Chief Charlie Beck.
