Los Angeles: In November 2001, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) received information from a minor who alleged criminal acts of a sexual nature against 56 year-old Jeffrey Jones. As a result of the allegations, investigators secured and served a search warrant on Jones’ residence in November 2001, seizing numerous items of evidence. For several months, detectives from Juvenile Division’s Sexually Exploited Child Unit conducted an extensive investigation into the allegations made against Jeffrey Jones.
As a result of the findings of this investigation, on November 13, 2002, a warrant was issued for Jones’ arrest, for violation of Penal Code Section 311.4 (c), Use of a Minor to Perform Prohibited Acts.
On November 14, 2002, Jones surrendered to LAPD detectives and was booked on the warrant. Jones was released on $20,000.00 bail, and is scheduled to be arraigned on November 21, 2002 in Division 30 of the Criminal Courts Building, 210 West Temple Street, Los Angeles.
The investigation is on-going and the Department is working closely with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
