Los Angeles: LAPD Robbery Homicide Division detectives are continuing to investigate the assault upon two officers assigned to 77th Street Station that occurred on August 25, 2011 at 70th Street and Western Avenue.
During the investigation, 25-year-old Darvin Cook, a resident of Los Angeles, was arrested for the assault on the officers.
On August 31, 2011, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed two counts of 664/187 PC (Attempt Murder), two counts of 246 PC (Shooting at Occupied Motor Vehicle) and one count of 12020(a)(1) PC (Possession of Firearm by a Felon). It was further alleged that the crimes were committed in association with a criminal street gang.
