LAPD Baseball Team Members LAPD Foothill Area Officers 500 students, teachers, and staff
WHY:
This event is presented to Vaughn Street Elementary School as an acknowledgement of their efforts in adopting our “Just Say No” Pledge Campaign at their school. The 500 students with the encouragement of their instructors, LAUSD Police Officer Andrea Galindo and LAPD Officer Juan Soriano, have written pledges about the importance of saying no to drugs, gangs, crime, and bullying. This rally is a positive way to help the cadets interact with police officers and community mentors whose mission is to positively impact the lives of our youth.
DETAILS:
2:30 – Introductions of Special Guests 2:40- Discussions w/ students about the importance of saying no to drugs, gangs, crime, and bullying. Two police officers perform rap song about saying no. 2:55- All students recite LAPD Baseball Team’s “Just Say No” pledge. 3:00 – Baseball Semi-Skills Clinic (Instructed by LAPD Baseball Team Members) Contests (Hula hoop contests, dance move contests, and drawings for great prizes) *Contests and prize drawings will continue until event ends.
