Los Angeles : The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) proudly announces the graduation of its Law Enforcement Explorer Class No. 83, consisting of 115 graduates, nine of which are sponsored by the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD). It has been a privilege to work in partnership with BHPD in promoting this vital police youth program. This is the first time in 20 years that the LAPD has trained explorer recruits from another law enforcement agency. The explorer curriculum consists of 128 hours of police academics and physical training.
Following the graduation, the explorers will receive their assignments to the community police station closest to their area of residence and their duties will provide community service in a non-hazardous police capacity.
