Northridge: On July 14, 2019 at 8 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department Bomb Squad responded to the 11400 block of Encino Avenue to the Islamic Center Northridge for a suspicious device. The device was an unattended pressure cooker, and posed no threat to the public. The Los Angeles Police Department Major Crimes Division was advised and investigators responded to the location.
On July 15, 2019 at 5:30 a.m. LAPD Major Crimes Division Detectives located and interviewed a person, identified as a congregant, who stated they left items for the homeless. The homeless take what they want and leave the rest. In this case, the pressure cooker was not wanted and was left at scene. Out of an abundance of caution, a radio call was generated, and LAPD Bomb Squad responded
