Los Angeles: On Thursday, February 26, 2004, at 9:15 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department will honor police officers and civilians in the 24th Annual Recognition Day Awards Ceremony. The event will take place at the Police Academy Gymnasium, 1880 North Academy Road, Los Angeles, California.
Chief William J. Bratton will present medals and awards to 182 recipients, acknowledging acts of outstanding bravery and service. The Los Angeles Police Department has been acknowledging and commending their employees during Recognition Day since 1980.
