Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department has participated in a series of discussions with representatives from the Los Angeles Coliseum and the Los Angeles Rams regarding staffing and deployment of LAPD officers for the upcoming 2016 NFL season.
First and foremost is the safety and well-being of game attendees as well as the surrounding communities. As part of the planning process, the Department has also consulted with the National Football League for best practices and policies.
Discussions regarding cost-recovery will continue to be part of our ongoing conversations with the Los Angeles Coliseum and Los Angeles Rams. Additionally, the majority of Department personnel utilized for upcoming games will not be from various patrol divisions, minimizing the impact on the other communities of Los Angeles.
LAPD looks forward to the exciting return of a professional football to Los Angeles and wish the Los Angeles Rams a successful season.
