Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) West Los Angeles Patrol Officers arrest two burglary suspects and manage to save a wedding proposal in the nick of time.
On Sunday, December 15, 2013, around 7:10 p.m., West Los Angeles Patrol officers received a radio call of two male suspects burglarizing cars in the 1700 block of Corinth Avenue. The Officers arrived, saw two men that matched the description of the suspects and a brief foot pursuit ensued. The officers managed to take both suspects into custody without incident. During the course of their investigation, the officers recovered a ring from one of the suspects.
The officers continued their investigation which led them to a nearby car and discovered the car had been left open. They located the owner and victim, Andrew Johnson, who advised that he was missing an engagement ring that he just left in his car an hour prior. He added that he was going to propose to his girlfriend that same night.
The suspects were identified as 20-year-old Zachary Wolf and 22-year-old James Wagner. They were arrested and booked for Felony Grand Theft at LAPD Metropolitan Jail Section.
The LAPD wants the public to know the importance of locking your car when left unattended, hiding your valuables within your car out of view from potential suspects and keeping your most valuable possessions with you.
Andrew Johnson would be interested in telling his story and is available for contact at 203-668-8337.
