Angeles on July 25, 2015.

WHY:
2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games are coming to Los Angeles!
The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Final Leg for the 2015 Special
Olympics World Games is the Special Olympics largest grass-roots
fundraiser and public awareness vehicle. On July 23, 2015, LAPD has
teamed up with Special Olympics and all 15 Council Districts to
host a ceremony which will take place at a designated special
location for each Council District. Three routes covering each of
the 15 districts will run throughout the City with an LAPD motor
Escort starting at 0700 hours from the Biltmore Hotel and ending at
LAX at 1700 hours.
Additionally, a ceremony will take place on July 24th with the
athletes on the steps of City Hall West (Spring Street Steps) at
10:30 AM on July 24th. To continue the journey of the Flame of
Hope, the Unified Relay Across America will end by culminating with
the lighting of the ceremonial cauldron during the Opening Ceremony
in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on July 25.
