Los Angeles Man Shot to Death NR13223cj

Los Angeles:  The Los Angeles Police Department West Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who shot  and killed a man Monday morning as he was standing in front of his residence.

On July 1, 2013, at 3:25 a.m., LAPD Wilshire Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 1400 block of Cloverdale Avenue in the Wilshire area.  When the officers arrived, they discovered a man on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds.  Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the man dead.  The victim was later identified as 42-year-old Milton Fernandez.

The LAPD West Bureau Homicide Detective’s investigation revealed that Fernandez was standing in front of his residence, when a suspect approached on foot, pointed a handgun and fired numerous shots at him and two other neighbors.  Fernandez was hit by the gunfire and collapsed in the courtyard, where he died.  Fernandez’s friends were not injured.  The investigation is still on-going.
