Since 1996, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) have partnered to create a unique program: The Police Academy Magnet Schools (PAMS). This visionary initiative, spearheaded by former school board president Roberta Weintraub, fosters academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to community service.
On May 25, 2024, the PAMS program proudly celebrates its 27th commencement ceremony, celebrating 190 graduating students from six LAUSD high schools who have excelled in academics, physical fitness, and community service. These outstanding cadets have demonstrated dedication, discipline, and a commitment to community service throughout their time in the PAMS program.
